On this page, we display Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing advice, hints and tips, small articles. and sometimes even
quotes or words of wisdom by colleagues in the SEO community. (These will be in addition to our regular articles, EasySEO articles, or blogs). We plan
to update 2 - 3 times per week.
New SEO tips will appear in no particular order but we think there is a good chance you'll find them useful. Don't hesitate to contact us with any questions, comments, or criticism. If you want some questions answered by a live human, we can set up a free consultation session, no strings attached. SEO Trump is here to help with professional services. |
In an earlier tip, we suggested you take good care of page content.
Please note: Content is important - mind you, there are dozens of factors that influence Google SERPs, but good content should nevertheless be given proper attention.
Regular content helps SEO but it's good content that keeps your visitors on your website, makes them navigate it, and eventually converts them into customers, as opposed to not-so-good content which will chase them away.
So, what is "Good Content"? It's something - anything - that's useful, or could be useful, to your website's visitors; something interesting or important. Ideally, it should be of some value, like a special offer, a tip (sounds familiar?), a link to a great site, an important piece of news, or other beneficial information.
Concentrate on your message. Inform, don't chat. And keep it simple yet informative.
There is nothing wrong with entertaining content, but only as a complement to the main info, and of course subject to your site's general theme and message. Keep your content within the spirit of your website, and its purpose. If you are a machine shop, jokes won't cut it (forgive the pun). A quiz about metals or tools will. So will advice about what kind of screw to choose. And a great Offer of the Month certainly will, too.
Remember: you want customers, not applause. |
