White Hat SEO is the ethical, "above board" SEO system, user-oriented (as opposed to strictly designed to impress the search engines), honest, and search engine policy compliant. Black Hat SEO is the opposite: a set of deceptive methods designed to trick search engines into ranking certain websites much higher than they would have normally been.
