SEO Tips (Some Controversial)
You might occasionally find some of our (and my) tips a little controversial. Of course, you’ll get hopefully sound advice which, more often than not, will be mainstream. At the same time, I don’t like to simply repeat other writers’ input just for the sake of being herd-compliant. So expect some interesting reading.
First controversial remark (caution - might raise howls): PR is not as important as you think.
Why and how not? PR will help your SERPs under certain circumstances, but not always. PRs can be a tiebreaker for a better SERP between almost equivalent pages but will itself influence a search result position to a lesser degree than most people think.
Oh, sure, a high PR will tell your site’s visitors that you are a “somebody”, and this in itself has advertising value which is not to be taken lightly. But for that to happen, visitors will first have to see you. And how do they get to see you? Through good organic SEO. Of course, there are are other [off-page] ways of getting visible, too, but great organic SEO has yet to be dethroned as the undisputed visibility facilitator.
Yep. For organic SERPs, great SEO beats great PR hands down. (Incidentally, it beats PPC, too). Looks like good old SEO Consultants and SEO Expert Services still have a good future
.
See you next time.
